Port Douglas

This lowkey yet sophisticated, small tropical resort town with a big heart has been my personal home for over 30 years. Port Douglas, or “Port” as the locals call it, is renowned as a holiday destination, with proximity to two World Heritage sites, the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest, but its enduring charm is also due to its community feel and the security it offers.

60 minutes north of the city of Cairns, Port Douglas is an enticing residential location, offering a level of lifestyle infrastructure: there is of course iconic Four Mile Beach, a great selection of cafes and restaurants and boutique shopping, two supermarkets, a primary school, medical clinics, and two golf courses.

A swag of residential and investment properties are found here, from entry level to million dollar real estate. Even though Port Douglas is relatively small in terms of both physical size and population, there are distinct pockets, each with its own character – Macrossan Street, Wharf Street, Solander, Four Mile, Reef Park, Port Gardens and Ferndale are just some of the “suburbs” which share the 4877 postcode but each has its own character.

When you deal with Cote Nord Property, you benefit from the experience and insider insights that have been accumulated from over 30 years of living and operating property-based businesses in Port Douglas.
